100 Refutations: Day 17

Before the Sea

I am a foreigner in the promised city
with suitcases full of desiccated crabs
but in the Empire of Closed Windows, everything is rough
and when I go into the street, I double bolt the door
and try to forget
the mermaid trapped in the bathroom pipes

and I am nostalgia
when I painlessly deliver myself to the ordinary abyss of corners

and I am nostalgia
when I fulfill my duty of being a good citizen.
